And that comfort, or camaraderie, builds such a bond of mutual benefit, that either of us will bitterly defend each other ...concerning most anything, and at most any cost.
Why is that??
Because if we don't, then we lose not only our comfort, but ....
(Okay, our comfort is sort of symbiotic in nature, with a desperate loyalty ...that feels a threatening presence of any possible opposing ideas. The ideas held loyal are not life sustaining, nor would their absence end our fragile peaceful existence ...on the contrary, if they were abandoned, it may often enhance life. What am I speaking of is not any one thing, but a combination of things. And the sad thing is that unlike a cake, where if the ingredients are not right ---the cake doesn't taste right, with this ---the ingredients can vary, and yet the result will be virtually the same. Not our cake, but our character is often composed of ingredients we select. We may not be good at reading labels. And we shouldn't place character labels on others. Yet, what we do to ourselves is often not good either. We don't often know that our ingredients differ from what we think they are. We may have pride, or it may be a mixture of fear. It may be ---that certain things within us, when mixed with certain things within others ---well, it may be that things could explode.)
